Who is this course for: Therapists both qualified and in training as well as teachers and those working in the health profession

Information
The TKI (Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument) is fast and accessible, delivering insight, empowerment and resolution to anyone involved in conflict. By identifying alternative conflict styles, it helps people reframe and defuse conflict, creating more productive results.

Note: this is not a physical safety course

Topics covered:

The TKI questionnaire identifies five distinct conflict styles and provides people with conflict-management solutions. By helping individuals understand their default approach in conflict, it encourages the exploration of alternative ways to handle different situations.

This one day CPD training has been developed to support therapists and counsellors understand their own preferred method of dealing with conflict as well as helping clients how to manage and adapt to either avoid, compromise, collaborate accommodate or compete.  Understanding what your own conflict style is allows you to look at options to focus attention and energy in some of the other areas, this particularly works well when working with couples and those struggling with how to deal with anger.

This event will be partly theory based with the opportunity to work in small groups and discuss and put in to practice methods that can be used in the counselling room.
